they need to replace the currency, so people can afford it, not everyone can afford 32-35$ buds, if the currency was more affordable, and maybe if valve started selling unusuals at a lower price, people could actually afford good ones, oh and yeah, we need a new currency, and say fuck no to taxing.

There already is a currency aside from buds and cheaper than buds, it's called keys. Adding another item isn't going to make unusual hats, if buds only cost $10 a piece than a $150 hat would cost 15 buds instead of 5.
Valve selling unusuals might make them cheaper, but I'm sure uncrated unusuals would still go for more than bought unusuals since there would have to be some difference between them like there is with anything you buy. Valve selling the same unusuals that are in crates would hurt the economy of the game and piss a lot of people off who have spent money on unusuals and can't sell for near what they paid so it wouldn't be wise for valve to do something like that.

Valve makes more money by selling keys and this will go down if they start selling unusuals. Their business will take a hit.

That's why it won't be unusuals. It'll be something like paint, or an unusual crate that costs 25 bucks- randomly chooses one of say five hats, and from 5 effects. Rules would follow crate logic (2 common effects, 2 uncommon, 1 rare with a 1% chance of happening)
Example crate:
Hats-
40% chance of a coupe
30 % chance of a hallmark
20% chance of a fez
9% chance of veil
1% chance of tossle
Effects (same percentages and order, too lazy to type)
Green fetti
Flies
Smoking
New exclusive effect
Scorching
By having store exclusive effects of varying rarity Valve will be fine. Also retiring effects and bringing them back in crates/paints will also drive money

The price of unusuals sets the tone of the market. A hat will trade at its value no matter what the price of buds. DO NOT adjust the value of a hat based on the price of buds.
The price of a duped hat is divided by the number of known copies. A single dupe is half price. To restore the value of the hat, delete a dupe.
The only people getting rich off TF2 items is valve. Their ingame shop is the true monopoly.
