steam forums hacked, ffs
#1

Apparently from the information i gathered so far skimming google, the steam forums have been completely hacked. Were advertisements all over linking users to mod snip a hacking and porn site. Apparently posts were also made from a valve emplyees account.

To make things worse for myself my account has been disabled and there can be two reasons for this. First being i had the same password on steam and the forums, sigh yea i know. Secondly my most recent post made mention of me replacing vampire . exe with a nocd version in Vampire the Masquerade but ffs if that's the reason then that's just wrong as the game was unplayable giving error after error to everyone.

Pissed off right now. Spent a few hundred recently on a few games on steam and now i can't even use it on top of the issues with the above mentioned game and all the bugs with TF2 while i think about it.

Really sloppy on valves behalf and considering they peaked at 4.5 million users online in the last 2 days i can only imagine my ticket to support will take about 5 days to answer so god knows how long till i get my account back.

I would have to look into this more, and whether it's steam or not. Always remeber...

You payed for a stuff on a shitty platform, made by somewhat shitty devolpers and mentioned things on a shitty forum, Valve can be shit.
Just give it a few days, they come around >.> Oh and they cant count to 3.

Even if Valve makes stupid decisions they aren't shitty by any stretch of the imagination. God, imagine if you ungrateful assholes had steam run by psn, ubisoft or ea. They would screw you six ways from sunday and then provide no apology for it.
And really if you think about it all of Valve's decisions are a stroke of financial genius anyways.

I was a commando you know.

Oh Valve is awsome, without them we wouldnt have lot of good games and good software. BUT, Steam overall can be shitty.

Valve was better when they were Sierra.

Also if you expect the company that runs SPUF to be professional in any way you're mentally hilarious.

So it's unprofessional to get hacked?

That, and it's unprofessional to employ the use of forum moderators who berate and harass customers.

They need to realize that their official forums ARE reflected in their companies image and having NO standards for the people they let run it is completely absurd and probably the main reason why valve is considered to have very poor customer relations at best.

Completely agree with that point; they need to run everyone on their support side through some basic HDI courses.

turns out my account was disabled because i had traded for stolen items. Went and had a look what steam took as i had no idea and i saw 3 missing random weapons :o

So i lose my account for 2 days over 1.5 scrap or 15 cents :o

On top of that i ended up getting the items pretty much instantly back but not the ones i lost. I got 2 weapons plus a duplicate "drab" bills (now i have 2) :o

Got called "Ryan" by support and that's not my name and was told if i continue to trade in stolen goods the authorities will be notified :o

Seriously wondering why i support steam. I know the guys who work on tf2 do a great job but wow my mind boggles at the things i have seen recently.

What's my alternative though? Go to EA/ORIGIN and support those assholes/middlemen/jahova whitness's but i do get to play battlefield 3!
