i just played scout for 2 hours, dominated people by the truckload. (im not a good scout)
this update/free weekend makes me soo happy, because now there are hundreds of shitty spies, snipers, and rage-pyros out there, who are SO easy to kill

Well, I played 4 hours on instarespawn 2fort and all I got was a lousy double sandwich.
I got the ambassador on turbine, it was nice. There's something I like about this system. Not sure what.

Yeah I was initially very frustrated with the system, but then I got the ambassador and I like it. I think that the rate of weapon acquisition needs to be upped a bit

While loathe to admit it, I like the idea and having to(somewhat)grind through achievements to secure a 'milestone'. It gives me a goal to strive for. It took me 6 weeks of
casual playing to get all 3 scout milestones. Afterwards though, I lost some interest in TF2 since I had nothing to work towards(other then piling up stats). Haven't played enough of the new system to decide how good/bad it is.

According to the valve blog we'll be able to trade extra weapons to other people after the next patch.
The new system seems to be the result of a couple things. An influx of new players, people abusing the old system with achievement server bullshit and valve's desire to keep the game "casual", whatever casual means.
For people like me who play just to play and ignore the achievements this is awsome because im a medic 95% of the time.

I don't understand how this would be beneficial to you. You are receiving unlocks for items/classes that you don't even play...
The old way was fine. You play the class(es) that you like and through game play you end up getting the achievements and unlocks. Sure their are people that will get around that and go to great depths to complete the achievements and get the unlocks, but big deal. There is a loop hole in everything, they are just ruining it for themselves. It's like cheaters getting around the VAC system.
This is ridiculous...I can't even gain 1 freaking unlock even though I have completed all the achievements and played countless hours/days.

Not sure where but the unlock system is confirmed for broken. Weapons should be much more plentiful says Robin Walker, but the cosmetic hats are the rarities. When will they fix it? Who fuckin knows.
Ambassador was ridiculous. Hit boxes were a complete joke and I wrecked shop all day just running around shooting people before they fixed it. Hit boxes and accuracy fall off are now corrected, much harder to use but still worth it if you can shoot the head. Balanced currently imo
I don't have any others but they all look well done.
Dead Ringer is fun. It feigns death in every way; body, kill spam, scoreboard. I've killed a spy a few times only to retreat and have him stab me. You'd think people would expect it after a bit, but in the heat of the moment you don't really consider it. Will probably get shittier as people get more aware.
Cloak and Dagger. No clue. Seems useful for those patient folk.
Huntsman is badass. Don't think it's OP, but you're able to pop off a decent shot in a tiny amount of time. Plus there's no scope, so if you can learn to shoot from the hip and headshot it has the potential to be extremely deadly. Tough part about that is there's apparently an arc to the no-charge.
Jarate is also badass, though probably underrated by most. 35% more damage is awesome. 100 damage rockets, pipes, edge of stickies, etc etc will now one shot the 3 125 hp classes in the game, two of which are being played like crazy right now. Losing the SMG isn't a big deal if you can no-scope properly.
Razorback is a fun pub toy. Good for not getting shanked 100 times. Useless in comp but all in all not bad for what it does. Would rather have the piss but to each their own.
My verdict is that the weapons are balanced but all the game changes are dumb. Hate payload race. It's a boring unimaginative spamfest. haven't played hoodoo yet. Might have a long time ago. Pushing carts is dumb. This game needs more GOOD gravelpit-esque maps. (Fuck no, junction. Broma was warmer but still doesn't cut it. I'm partial to steel but would like something a little more open.) Silly hats are cute. Spy and sniper taunt kills are sweet now that they fixed the spy exploit. Kritz bong hits for health is awesome. Valve should just promote the guys who work on the characters and fucking fire the guys who do everything else.

Actually it was proved how ambassador headshots deal less damage than normal bodyshots.
Heck just try it on your own server.
6 headshots on a heavy and he lives with 20-30 hp
6 bodyshots and he's dead

All things considered the ambassador only has one advantage, the bullets go through people. You'd know that if you would have seen my picture thread.

I think that all the unlocks are pretty balanced and provide a new style of gameplay for each class. I just wish that you could get them faster :x
