I would still get a nvidia because you get evga precision and limited lifetime warranties with their cards. Honestly if you were careful with a nvidia card you could probably have the investment last 4-5 years possibly more if you swap out the fans on them every now and then. Also yes get a WD instead of a seagate if you can help it. Trust me when I tell you seagate has awful service as far as delivery goes.
The last external HDD I sent into seagate came back with a huge crack down the spine that wasn't there before. As well as the fact that the HDD was still fucking broken. Then they made me pay an extra 20 dollars to ship it out to them again to fix their mistake.
