Again there is no one way that will make everyone happy, the thing to consider is, is the individual playing their class as Valve has stated. For example for a demo man to camp a door way with stickies that the enemy must use is that stat whoring? For an engineer to place their sentry in a hard to hit spot covering an objective is that stat whoring? For a sniper to stay towards the rear of the group shooting over teammates heads utalizing the only advantage a sniper has which is distance to keep thier team moving foward, is that stat whoring? When a pyro stays back and sweeps the gear for spies and helps cover the snipers or engineers is that stat whoring? When the teams are unbalanced with more skilled players on the other team and the handicapped team camps a point is that stat whoring? Maybe the solution is not teaming up with stat whores, on the next map even if it means you may loose, draw some satisfaction from preventing the stat whore from accomplishing thier goal by always being in thier face, shooting at them before anyone else. Run past the medic and kill the stat whore. Truth be told only YOU can prevent stat whoring.
