Perhaps. 4gb is definitely enough for the current games on the Market and will be enough for the foreseeable future. However, I always like to have alittle headroom and that's why I bought 8gb of ram. Although with such a high budget not getting extra ram would be silly. And yes, all the p67/z68 motherboards support only dual Channel ram.

No 4gb is double what is required. The reason you get 8gb's+ is you do heavy photoshop editing or video editing/rendering. All of which are very resource intensive. The only reason I suggest he gets 8gb's is he is using a dual channel board and buying a single stick of 4gb would slow him down. That and ram is so dirt cheap right now that you may as well considering it costs less than a mouse for 4 gigs.
