Also the problem is that people still put up with their shit. The fucking tf2 apologists annoy me more than anything (except maybe religious apologists, but that's another issue). Why do people feel the need to defend every fucking aspect of the game? Isn't it obvious that any semblance of visual aesthetic has been fucked up completely? Not to mention that the gameplay, which was once at least somewhat elegant, is now bloated and full of shit.

Also the fact that portal 2 has hats and an in-game store is a telling indication of how valve will be designing future games. This sort of bullshit eventually kills my desire to play games, no matter how good they are.
