I watched the video and haven't seen any provocation from the side of so-called "insurgents". This was clearly bad judgment on the side of the US Army. And later, the attempt to cover up the story is simply sickening.

It is easy to say this in hindsight from the safety of your computer desk.

And shooting those people who were picking up the wounded? Come on.

You shoot somebody because you thought they were armed. You have been trained for weeks to treat anybody hostile until proven otherwise.

They reach down to about where this perceived gun would fall.

I probably would have fired, too.
