I spent about 10 years on the phones in call centers...hated every min. People get even more ignorant when there are no repurcussions for their actions. They can be shitty and then just hang up and its over for them.
Then i moved into call center managment. On top of the horrid task of manaing entry level morons that dont know their head from their ass, taking escalation call after escalation call is the frosting on the cake. The reps on the phone get to the piss them off and then hand it to me the listen to the customer yell for an hour...ugh. And it is a banking call center, so they have plenty to yell about.
Now I am relaxed in a project manager role which basically means I drink coffee and troll online forums all day...yay.
Worst job I ever had was working day labor tickets mid winter in Buffalo. Get in line outside the building by 4:30 and wait till they open at 6:30. You get tickets based on order you were in line....minimum wage. Generally srat a ticket around 8:30-9, get back around 5:30-6...so 14 investment for 8 hrs of crap pay...lol. Glad those days are over...
