Maybe not the right place, but I was scammed.

Here's what I sent to Steam support:

Quote:Hello,

I understand you and your coworkers at Steam Support must get a lot of tickets concerning lost/hijacked/stolen TF2 items. I'll try to be brief and keep my anger out of the ticket.

I joined a random trading server and traded a user named "Profiler" (who after we traded has since changed his name to "Evolutionary" and made his profile private.) Here's his Steam URL before the trade: http://steamcommunity.com/id/godlolslol/
And after the trade: http://steamcommunity.com/id/alowerere/

In case he changes his profile URL again, here's his Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:20303260

I traded him when he said he had Earbuds available, and we spent thirty minutes talking about what he wanted and my reluctance to make an empty trade. He eventually convinced me that he wasn't a scam artist, and added a noisemaker as a collateral (though I knew it wasn't worth 7 keys + a buckaroo). He added me to Steam and I made the trade. Attached is the rather one-sided conversation I made with him when he declined the next trade request.

Now for the issue of getting my keys/buckaroo back. Here are two of my backpack links (before and after the trade).

Before (with 7 keys and the Buckaroo): http://www.tf2items.com/id/chekonjak?time=1301117423

After (with a Koto noisemaker): http://www.tf2items.com/id/chekonjak

I really don't care about what happens to the guy who scammed me. My goal is to retrieve the seven keys and buckaroo I lost. I don't need a Koto noisemaker, so you can remove it from my backpack (or I can just delete it).

I have immensely enjoyed playing Valve games (Team Fortress 2 included) the last few years and it is my hope that I can resume where I left off before this latest unpleasantness.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and investigate.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
