well, really he expanded on what was already being done, like every other generation of music since...well, forever ago.
He was a helluva performer and drew from many sources, and he did apparently work very hard to become the artist he was, all the other bullshit aside.
MJ was who he was on the backs of the people before him. Don't forget to honor them as well.
he wasn't part of my generation. why should we respect anything that came before we were born?
