Amazon has an eBook store you can self-publish to, though. It doesn't have to be a physical print. Anyone with a Kindle or iPhone/iPod Touch (maybe WinMo and Android soon) could buy the book. Mobipocket, which is where I buy ebooks, also allows independent publishing:

I've been down this road before as a merchant. I used agoracgi for the PayPal transactions, but I was selling physical goods (computer hardware/software, couldn't compete with Newegg or Googlegear). If you do it that way, it'd probably be easiest to just email the book as an attachment, rather than providing a direct download.
