I voted no for exactly this reason. Crits are in the game for a purpose - yes, you have a random shot of being randomly shot in the face with a crit as the round starts. But also recognize it's there as a reward for players that ARE using skill/strategy/combination-of-both during the match.
I hate making the analogy, but TF2 is like NBA Jam for the SNES - you have a chance of making a shot across the court, but it's a small one. Play well and 'You're on Fire' making that shot across the court better as a reward.

I enjoyed Hangtime more, esp. with the create-a-player feature.
