Trolling's purpose is to be inflammatory and to get a rise out of people.

The real purpose of trolling isn't to really to piss people off, although that is usually the case as that is the easiest purpose.

The pure form of trolling is setting a reaction you want to get out of people and then trying to create that reaction on your own terms.

It can be calling medic when you have full health so that the enemy hears it, thinking you are hurt, and rushes you when you have full health.

Or it can be pissing people down until they rage quit a server. People who like to put people down for not getting enough points, or being total dicks to people just for being new at the game.

The first rule of trolling is that if you are successful: the person being trolled won't know they are being trolled.
