He probably thought you were trolling him, or trying to get him to go to a lower price through last second negotiation (read: being an ass). If not, and he really was too impatient, then you should be glad you didn't trade with him. This market has no place for people who are impatient or easily deterred (Read: the standard tf2op "quick buyer").

People should be used to steam trading fucking up by now. I very rarely get a trade to go through right the first time.
