In actuality, they are disadvantagous, like having a bullet magnet on your head. Being noticed is not fun when snipers are camping.

Don't really think that this is valid in TF2. The style is pretty simple, colorful and comicky so sneaking or disguising is, other like in Call of Duty or Battlefield which has detailed levels and a "realistic" style almost impossible. That's why I have no problems wearing unusuals. I just don't think that they really make it easier to snipe.
