I wasn't going to comment on this thread at all since I prefer not to get into discussions like this. However, since you made this statement I feel inclined to post.
When you say "god" do you mean the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible or a different god.
I have to assume that you do mean the former since you said:

I'm guessing that by "the texts" you do mean God of the Bible. Also, you refer to Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"
If this is in fact what you refer to than you're above statement is completely ludicrous. To imply that God has an orientation of any kind is a bit illogical.
Sexual orientation is a preference of what you find physically attractive. Since the Lord is not of the flesh this couldn't be. While the logic of your statement is understandable, knowing more facts about who God is would easily put this logic to rest.
I don't want to get into a large debate about this, especially in this thread. I would like to see that people understand there is a difference between organized religion and the church (both man created) and having a personal relationship with God.
