Unless you connect from a lobby, you will be forced to play whatever mode is already going. You can always change the campaign using the built in voting thing.

Seeing as how we can't even fund the servers we have now via donations, probably not.


Valve has been getting a lot of feedback related to joining community servers and making them group exclusive and such. They'll probably be making lots of improvements in a later update.

You can try the CVAR ms_force_dedicated_server. It requires cheats to be on in order to set the value, but since you're not in a server, just type sv_cheats 1 in your console to set the setting temporarily.
