Profile rep is not rep. It's fine that you're a trader that can be trusted, but your profile isn't something that supports that. Profile rep is the hallmark of scammers and sharks, as it can be faked, negative stuff deleted. The fact you don't have a rep thread that points to your real profile is a safety measure your customers are missing.

I understand your point and the example daemon gave demonstrates a scammers rep. Yes, it is total BS. Each person's rep needs to be weighed and measured based on the remarks left and by whom, not by where it is located.

The blanket statement "it is not rep" is only an opinion. I could just as easily say SOP rep is not rep, but I'm not that stupid and blind, even though imposters link it left and right. They put links in their profile pages. It's also the "hallmark of scammers and sharks."

How many scammers and sharks have had actual rep threads here? Where was the safety measure then? Oh joy.

We can agree to disagree... I understand my profile rep means nothing here. But it only means nothing HERE. I chose not to put a rep thread here to avoid imposters. With the exception of my hijack, still zero imposters to date. How many of you have had imposters. How many people have been ripped off or scammed because of your rep threads. Countless.

To say my profile does not reflect myself as a trusted trader is an ignorant statement. A great number of admins, and too many well respected members have left rep on my profile. Those comments are only worthless to you. Not everyone needs the gods of SOP to validate their worthiness.

Either way.. this argument will always be moot and have folks on both sides. SOP is not the governing authority on all things TF2. No offense intended.
