I'm pretty sure the word is offensive no matter who's using it.
Folks it is simply a word first, and as with all things it only has power if you give it power. I am of Irish and American Indian decent and in Europe and America i am considered the same actually less. But as it happens since i follow the mind over matter principle "i don't mind because you don't matter" the ignorant can go piss off. Words have become a way to calculate thier intelligence and class level. Words are a nice barometer to base the decision on as they will tell you alot about the individual who uses them. On the same note if a word becomes mainstream as certain words have and will become as time progresses the emotional power of those words should pass as well.
Political correctness is a dirty bandage on an infected wound and untill the bandage is replaced and the wound is uncovered and cleaned it will only fester. Tear off the bandage debreed the wound and allow the healing to begin. You are what you are accept it and move on. Do not allow the ignorance of another to get on you and drag you down. Life is full of stupid people and untill there is some sort of intelligence test before being allowed to breed there will always be. My dad used to say "Life has enough negatives already without adding any of your own".
Most importantly i tend to look at the example set by dogs as in the purest breeds usually have some genetic suceptibilities that the mutts do not have. Diversity is a strength. Assimilation is eventual.
Just the happy musing of a "noble faired, long haired,leaping gnome"

P.S. The last part of the quote is "the star of a hollywood movie", 50 points if you can name the band and the song. Grandpa rock rules!!! 8)
3 rules to live by;
1)Question everything.
2)Believe nothing.
3)For the truth follow the money.
