I was a little disappointed to read what the achievements were, because it looks like it will encourage people to focus more on them than the gameplay.

Where do you look to find out your total stats? Such as 15 million heal pts. I wonder if this medic thing is going to be retroactive as many people here are wondering, because if it is, I'm sure with the over 100 hours of medic I've played I've nailed down many of these acheivements listed

Yep. And open it with notepad.
Then hit CTRL+F and search for "medic"
scroll up a little above that and you should see "iHealthPointsHealed"

Hmmm. Must be bugged.
Mine says "iHealthPointsHealed" "int" "1199131"
I think I read somewhere that all that info will be viewable through steam after the update. You won't have to go in and look at the playerstats file.

make sure your looking at the medic section of the file... -.-
