I'm not sure what is going on here... People complaining about "stacking." Really? Typically, stacking is just the capability for a team who understands the value of teamwork being on the same team. Sometimes friends on teamspeak etc. The reason auto-balance is implemented in the game is to make it "fair" so that one team can't claim that another team has more numbers, not to prevent stacking. The result of this is that one team gets players who ragequit, forcing the team who is doing well together to get broken up. It's unfortunate that this happens. But then sometimes, players from the team who got auto-balanced *could* switch back, because someone from that team left as well so I think it's very important to implement a way to return to that team if there is a slot. Then here's the other thing... are you really going to tell someone who wants to play with their friend to "deal with it?" Really? What if it's a small group of friends. Perhaps they are on teamspeak together and one of them being on the opposite team gives the rest an advantage? What is to prevent that? Frankly, I think it's the ones who get upset that a team is working together well, and wants to remain together, should deal with it. It's not like any of this is really causing any population drops... the servers are always full. So, what's the point?

Someone explain this to me in a light other than "I don't like people who try to get on a team with so-and-so, so we should stop that!" If we're going to start doing that... lets just ban the top 50 people from the server so none of this happens...

Squirrel my post did not assume you did anything. I don't know or have I checked to see whose being doing this. I've been handling it on Valve #1 and that's it. My point about again is that you chimed in with a similar response made by others. Not that you yourself have said this multiple times.
I actually understand "annoying regs" griefers etc...I have to deal with them to. People i'd like to ban (and could) but I don't since that's not what i'm suppose to do. Instead of forcing auto-balance so as to avoid these people you should take other actions. Try another server for a bit, ask them politely, muck about with them till they catch on, etc...
By no means did I mean to be rude to you squirrel. The post was not directed as you per say as it was directed at some of the general comments made on this thread.

let me be clear , the point of this whole thread is not stacking in general.
The point is (AGAIN AND AGAIN), people forcing auto-team balance so they can get onto the team they want. Its done most OFTEN for stacking but Its used other ways too. My point being, THAT auto-balance does not exist for that purpose and should not be used for any other purpose then evening the teams. Any use outside of this should be punished, simple.

I hope that by now i've made this point clear. If not, I give up. DF, I, and the other admins will handle it in the fashion we see fit.

Similar response because your 'fix' ignores quite a bit of shit, yet no one is listening to others points. You people have more shit to fix than just auto balance issues and you're going about it all in a way that will just piss people off. No point in arguing with a brick wall, I'm done.
