nvidia 8800 gtx problem
#11

give some details?

does it artifact when it comes back on? does it artifact before it goes bad?

What is your temperature while this is happening? did you update the drivers?

did you cross-check the settings in place from your video card software with that of the game to make sure that there are no conflicts?

is the video card configured properly in the bios?

okay, now what are the drivers you are running, this looks like a classic case of you having the old drivers that aren't vista-compatible.

try installing these http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

i have one 8800 gtx with the vitsa 64-bit driver
and one 6800 whit well unknow drive, but i don't run games off of this

oh i guess the 6800 uses the 8800 drive  :?

I would try taking the 6800 out because it is just wasting large amounts of electricity and raping your front-side-bus as well as adding unnecessary heat... after that remove all of the drivers to it from your OS and install the most current one for your 8800

so in the time it took you to reply to that you have already removed the second video card, restarted, rolled back to factory drivers, restarted, reinstalled updated drivers, restarted, and cross-checked all of your settings?

I would need the rest of your hardware in order to know any more specific advice. Just go through and make sure that everything else is compatible (for instance, if you only have PCIx16v1 instead of PCIx16v2 on your motherboard)

did you try testing the thermal conditions?
