I'm considering just abandoning sop servers for ones without replay enabled. It's not a useful feature and the server performance blows. Is there anything that can be done to improve this?

Valvemaps #1 and 2 are fine after the last update (#2 prior was a nice flashback to 56k modems).

Ya the lag was fixed with an update a few days ago. You are perhaps noticing something else?

performance was fix'd with last update, only when I save a replay after death and it downloads do I experience lag like symptoms, but that's my computer and not actual server lag as my ping does not change.

I am sure the replay will be removed once the replay competition ends?

I'm still seeing the periodic spike in frame rate that I didn't experience before. Real annoying when sniping, or when I'm just running around I keep thinking I've bumped into a spy because of the sudden pause. I've heard a few others complain as recently as yesterday. If you're saying this has been fixed, I'll try to figure out what else is causing this.

Which server? I've played valve maps #1 a few hours over the last couple days with no issue.

To be fair, I have noticed frame rate drops since the update (was at a 60 average on maps with weather effects, now it can dip to below 30 for a few minutes). Anecdotal at best though.
Also, there were a couple lag spikes the server felt this morning (on Yukon) but they passed and the server returned to normal.
