I've mostly played on #2 but I have noticed it become increasingly empty over the last 9 months. I assumed it was because most the regulars were playing other games that have come out in the last 2-3 years. I play less now only because I am trying other games out there.
Not surprisingly, the server would fill up right after updates(new items). But within a few weeks, it would die out again. How to fill the servers back up?

Look I know I haven't been on the GR server the longest or anything like that. But I do agree with the auto scramble being removed. When it started it went off current points. Well it has lead to bigger stacks then ever. If the teams are really that stacked and believe me we will all admit we know when that is. You should let the scramble be put to a vote. I myself do stack. I do like being on a team with my friends. But if I see the other team getting beat down that bad and I have a feeling I may be able to help. I will switch. Considering most of my friends are worth 25
lol The lag issues are being worked on from what I noticed and you guys are doing great. I say you should look for some sponsors. Think about how many people get on the servers you guys have. You add a few add's to it or make non donators watch a brief commercial b4 joining a team would easily get the attention of any large or small sponsor. Just my suggestions. I hope to see the server thrive and will continue to play there every day. The woman I'm going to marry even said if I lose this game she believes I will lose my mind
So please tell us what you need us to do for you. Do you want us to sign a letter for you to look for sponsors? I'd gladly attach my name to one. I'm sure everyone that plays your servers on a regular basis would. Please let me know. This server is the reason I became slightly obsessed with TF2
PS Just gave another 5 bucks. I know it's not much. But I got 3 kids.
I'll give more when I get my tax return.

Let's try not to go off topic from what the issue is. Everyone wants a healthy server full of people to play with and against. Several ideas have been laid out and we want to find a solution to this issue. If it's not taken care of now, we'll have issues in the long run.
Whatever DF chooses to do, I'm assuming he'll create a new thread about it. Something along the lines of voting for an admin should go in a new thread. This thread is was created because most of us, if not all, love to play the damn game on our damn servers. Let's please stick to the topic and if possible, can a moderator remove unrelated posts?

what some of you fail to realize is that "stacking" and "playing with friends" are two completely different things.
play with your friends on the team that doesnt already have 4 pubstars
if you aren't being automatically assigned a team every time you join, you're doign the server a disservice
The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the State.

Day 1: Server full practically all night.
This is the weekend and we will see what happens starting Monday but the server remained full long after 2fort and Valve Maps #2 emptied out.
I would like to make one other request fulfilled. During "sleeping" hours if the session can be set to 7 1/2 hours than I think the server will remain full. You always lose some people on map change and potentially half the server if it is 4 AM. I guess at the very least have this schedule during weekdays.
Also, I am not sure if any changes were made the box but the server was virtually lag free last night.

I do not agree that turning off autoscramble would be helpful. I don't think it's perfect, but it does a lot to mitigate the steamroll-into-map-change you used to see before. It's really a pain to get to a good map just to have everyone stack onto a team and have it be over in five minutes - and, oh, hey, hydro is the next map? Great, now we have to play it because we didn't get to the map vote yet.
Really, I see no convincing argument for its deactivation.

Let me try to clarify, since some of us that are posting have a large amount of similar friends that are regulars, we're considering it one in the same. It may not be the same for everyone, but my list and a number of the regulars, atleast for Goldrush are highly similar. Many of the good to great players know each other well. Therefore, when we play with our friends, it's stacked. That's atleast my viewpoint on it, for the 24/7 Goldrush server.
To get back on point, what I've seen so far, from the auto-scramble removal is just more people on temporarily, so we will have to wait til the weekday to see how it goes. The best matches so far, are when friends and regulars are fighting against each other. The game is much more competitive and competition drives this game. Hopefully it maintains that way and we get a new group of regulars to emerge as well.
