Update (1/5/09): SourceOP TV has been removed. Spectator will be enabled in the future to replace the SourceTV server.

It's a bot that watches the game and rebroadcasts it to any players connected to it.

The IP is the same as the game server, but the port is 27020. So, for example, to connect to the Valve Maps spectator server, type this in the console:
connect 74.54.24.194:27020

Likewise, for 24/7 2fort Instant Respawn:
connect 74.54.24.200:27020

And for 24/7 2fort with no modifications:
connect 74.54.24.198:27020

This allows people to spectate without taking up a slot on the actual game server.

oh yes, I heard about sourceTV by making a post in a forum.

I went to hit submit and the website was like "HEY, SOURCETV IS A SPECTATOR PROGRAM MEANT TO ALLEVIATE STRESS ON THE SERVERS WHILE PROVIDING THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF SPECTATOR SLOTS"

I swear to god, I have a screen shot of the tooltip somewhere.

SourceTV deaktivate HLXstats:

If one single bot is on the gameserver the player and team events are not tracked (saidly including SourceTV/HLTV).

I think the HLXstats is more importend for players as this bot for viewers. Who need the SourceTV ?
