i was so young and naive. When i bought it at release it took all of 5 minutes to realize the game was crap and had very little potential for expansion. Someday we'll get a good zombie survival game, but not today and not yet.

Okay, here is another idea. Zombie survival game with Planetside's game style. I mean, PVE planetside zombie survival!

Remove the suck from planetside, of course (I never payed for it, but there weren't enough levels and shit to earn)

that sounds like hella-fun, but not at all realistic and completely the opposite of what this thread set out to accomplish. (do i get a cookie?)

I'm still playing L4D... I find it amusing to 25 pounce someone with an on-fire hunter and watch how quickly they die.

i feel like you could probably do anything with the game, and as long as you give it that same visceral satisfaction from doing cool shit (i.e. shooting someone in the air with a rocket, then picking them off in the space of a second in TF2) you'll see positive results. COD4 worked so well because it got quite hard at the high difficulties and it felt good to kill a group of those a-rabs with a nade, even if you got your ass pounded sec later and had to do it again.
but, my 2c:
you start out with a roll of duct tape and a lighter. everything around you can be pulled off and stuck together. you have 2 minutes to make shit before the first zombies come.

Not that it matters because now that I am getting rid of this 8600GT I am going to FUCKING DESTROY IT, DESTROYED, FULL AA, FULL EVERYTHING, FUCK, GONE, BLAM, 200 FPS, BITCHES FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. SPENT SO MANY HOURS TWEAKING JUST TO GET 10-15 FPS IN THAT GAME, BUT IT IS OVER, GUYS, OVER, DESTROYED, FPS, THERMAL UNITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
