quake sound problems
#1

I was playing sop the other day, and ive noticed the quake sounds are very different from the way they're setup on other dm servers. for one thing when i kill someone with say an RPG and endup killing myself at the sametime , i get a double kill  . Qua Pla had the same thing happen to him.
Also you can only hear your onw quake sounds, you cant hear when someone else triggeres "dominating" or "multikill" etc, and the words don't pop up on the screen either.

I realize this post is pretty old, but I thought I'd address this. The double kill when you kill yourself as well as somebody else is a bug that I've known about but never looked into. The fact that you can only hear your own quake sounds is done purposefully. Maybe I will add a CVAR to make the sound public and the words appear on screen.

it takes away from the satisfaction of the kill/reward if you can only here your own quake sounds.

other problems with quake sounds
if you kill one guy then kill another guy like 3 secs later it counts as a double kill, where i thought oly killing two guys with the same shot counted as a double kill?

No, in quake (or maybe unreal tournament?), as I understand it, if you kill somebody and then someone else within three seconds it counts as a double kill. If you kill somebody again within the next three seconds it counts as a multi kill. Then so on to ultra kill and monster kill.
