I Know duplex was having issues with his respawn timer going to 0 and then back up to the original amount making it like a double respawn time. Then last night some other people were having the same issue... Is there somthing going on in the servers causing this as of late?

Events such as point being capture increase respawn time even when you are already waiting.

Best way to witness this is losing D on steel as red.

What Hell-met said is true, but what you are experiencing is a recent bug.

With the latest TF2 patch, they've introduced a few bugs. One being that some people get stuck on team selection after the server switches map. Another is that people can get stuck waiting to respawn after dieing. The solution for your issue is to change class. You will spawn immediately after doing so and can then change back to what you were.

I've tried to figure out the cause and it may have something to do with typing in chat or having some other VGUI window open (e.g. scores) while about to respawn. I don't know, just a guess based on some patterns I've seen.

Going along with this, I have noticed longer respawn times lately. I managed to garner a 28 second respawn on dustbowl the other night.

Is this just me not paying attention or does it seem like it has become longer for anyone else?
