Vote for kill to credit ratio of your preference - Issues - Aug 18, 2005

Me and another guy petitioned Naq to change the kill to credit ratio from 5 kills equals one credit to three kills equals one credit. He said post it on the forum. My main reason to go to three to one is because noclip + god costs alot and only lasts a little while. Anyways vote which ratio is your favorite/ and or flame me 8O

I hold my proverbial stance at 5 credits. God and noclip aren't suppsoed to last long becuase they are an unfair advantage. If we have people noclipping everywhere and being invulnerable we'll never get new players.

Agreed, may be for when Fortress Forever comes out, but for now i think it should stay 5 kills a credit.

I am indeed that other guy Issues mentioned... the Gravity Guy! Anyway, I agree with Issues, and I think that 5 kills to 1 credit is high, not only concerning the price of things like God and noclip, but also the ranking system. It takes a long time to get credits, and I feel that I would be wasting them after spending so long earning them, only to get what feels like a couple of seconds fun.

If you set it to a 3 kills to 1 credit ratio, I would be more inclined to spend them, which would still be infrequently, so you wouldn't have people noclipping around all the time, but at least I would feel that it was worth it when I do spend them. So my vote is the same as Issues: a 3:1 ratio.

I'm not yats you guys specifically will be nocliping and useing god everywhere. I'm sure there will be some griefer who will accumulate tens of thousands of credits just so he can use godmode for 10 maps straight, and i'd prefer this to happen later than sooner.

Anyway, I still think 3:1 is best. Plus the fact that god mode lasts for only a couple of minutes, you probably wouldn't notice much if you were playing in a full server.

Look at your log (if you have one) how many people besides admins have actually purchased stuff... i see a barrel here and there (50 kills = one useless barrel = |) but the only zues /noclip I have seen is gravity = |. So the difference between 5-1 and 3-1 is that the use of credits wouldn't be non-existent! Sorry if it sounds like im complaining... you really don't have to please me.

Or we could just lower prices?

I think that reducing the kill to credit ratio would be better, because then the ranks would be easier to get as well, of which I believe there are many. That is unless you don't want that to happen, in which case lowering prices would be fine. Consider it a tax refund 8)

(and I did waste some precious credits by buying zeus once and noclip once... woe is me...)

The rarity of credits is kind of the point. I would agree with you if credits were rare as it is. Credit exploiting has already proven a quick problem, and I won't want "morder" wannabe's having anywhere over 100 credits in over a day.

Don't say he wouldn't be able to get it either. You know how easy it is with these CTF maps.
