Nvidia's new line - Tunapiano - Jun 17, 2008

this is a screenshot someone took of the pc gamer review of the new top of the line card in Nvidia's next line due out this fall......Nvidia is calling it there 200 series cards, the cards start at 200 being the low end card up to the 280 GTX being the high end. what this screenshot doesnt show you that i see in my own magazine i have from this month is that this single card gets nearly the same 3dmark06 score as dual 9800 GX2's or dual Radeon 3870 X2's.

this card has 240 processor cores....i mean my god its not out yet but nividia is pricing it at 650$ according to the msrp in the article. the sad thing is that Nvidia started the year with there 8000 series out, in march they released the 9000 series and it's now painfully clear that before this year is over they will have a new 200 series out........so it just like wtf, why even bother with the 9000 series at all? and who's to say that in january they dont release a 300 series?

The cards are already out, the GTX 260 and 280.

they are just the first to use stream-processors. they aren't supposed to outperform in superfluous benchmarking designed for last-gen video processors (its like benchmarking a quad-core's performance in a program that only use one core).

well with the beta drivers they nearly double in fps benchmark tests and perform almost identical to dual 9800 gx2's in a 3dmark06 score.
