Logitech MX-revolution, now worth mentioning, but not buying - OmegaZero_Alpha - Sep 18, 2007

I bought this mouse about a year ago seeing the potential of the second mouse scroll, sadly it was impeded with it's limited software. This day I saw that they had Logitech SetPoint 4.0, and my dream was realized.

The problem with the second scroll was that it was limited to "document flip" and "zoom", and in a gaming engine that equates to "crash the game" and "nothing". But with the new software the second scroll has all of the same options of the regular buttons, plus it gives the active scroll the option to act as a third button. which means: 14 button fully customizable mouse, with 1000+ dpi and laser technology.

This little change in software has transformed the ultimate office mouse into the ultimate gaming mouse, and with built in software detection you don't even have to chose.

So lets look at it from the bigger picture :

Tilting scroll (mouse scroll tilts left and right)

Active scroll (press down and it can switch scroll modes so you spin the scroll wheel and it keeps spinning, making for FAST scrolling)

Second mouse wheel (thumb wheel, NOW 100% CUSTOMIZABLE)

Basic 4th and 5th buttons

button behind regular mouse scroll

awesome precision.

And now you can pick this thing up for under 50$ on amazon! (I payed 100$ for it)

Plus it has a 10-day rechargeable battery, and a kickass display stand that matches my monitor and my DS lite, and my PS3 and my webcam...

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE (as of november 24 2007):

This mouse is a temperamental piece of shit with no Warantee. Don't buy this.

The most notable feature (the free-moving scroll wheel) likes to break, and they don't like to replace your mouse.

I had mine break, which makes the free scrolling about as easy to do as installing the ram from a AppleBook into a super nintendo, and turning this mouse into a pile of shit. Not only that, but they won't take them back at ANY store, nor will logitech give a flying fuck.

I took the liberty of disassembling the buggy pile of shit to find that they had built the mouse ball with, instead of a ball-barring, A THIN ASS PLASTIC ROD. WHO THOUGHT THAT WOULD EVER BREAK?!?!?

I am going to buy a new one, return the old one in the same packaging and then sell the new one on ebay. I suggest you not buy this mouse until they work out this glitch.

Yes, and unlike your one-liners, my posts all have intelligent and relevant content that will better the community, and change the perception that AdminOP/SourceOP users are all random idiotic power-abusers who need a new way to ruin a server.

you would be surprised, but we are still getting a bad rep for all of the people who used AdminOP abuseively

Logitech MX-revolution, now worth mentioning, but not buying - Retribution - Sep 19, 2007

was that on actualy DF sanctioned servers?

Official AdminOP server was full of noobs... but I still have fun going in there and pwning them all.

Before though AdminOP has a bad rep cause noob admins (on their own servers) would use the "admin_execall" command to unbind people keys or something stupid like that. Which was a command most idiots wouldn't know about but with adminop it made it a nice and easy command to use.

i just want to say....

Posting a thread about anime in no way is relevant to the sourceop community. =/

Also one liners are nice. I dont want to have to take 10 minutes to read a big ass post/thread opener everytime i come online. Granted, Long posts are sometimes needed, but theirs a limit. I can only handle like 4 or 5 long ass novel posts before i get bored. I had already read 4 posts as such before i came across yours.

i may have read 4 sentences before i was like "f**k this" and decided on a reply. This thread opener wasn't real long, but its about a shiny new mouse, and ive read reviews about a million products just like it, and didnt care to read the rest of it.

Also if people are stupid to actually try and get to know sourceop users, and take the time to really see if everyone is an idiot or not, then i say fuck them, i dont want judgemental pricks here Wink
