Civ 5 - Drunken F00l - Feb 19, 2011

404'd

Civ 5 - Rostov - Feb 19, 2011

Was going to wait for it to get patched more and probably bundled later this year.

Civ 5 - Snarf - Feb 19, 2011

The game has very little to no bugs, do you expect a utopia?

Looks like they ran out of CD keys

Civ 5 - Rostov - Feb 20, 2011

No, I expect it to be like CIV IV where about a year after release it's more DLC. "LOOK what we have now! Buy this DLC for only an extra $20"

Sadly, all their DLC so far has been new nations to play. Civ 4's expansion packs introduced completely new ways to play the game and fleshed out strategies overlooked in the initial release, while Civ 5's seems to be riding the same fail-train as the original release.

Yes, still waiting for CIV V to be improved on with a few more patches. Looks like I'm waiting for the fall now. Either for CIV V or HoI III.

I don't know, man. All the patches that have been released seem to be fixing bugs and gameplay inbalances that were around since day one. Sulla has a very thorough breakdown of "what went wrong" in Civ 5. A lot of it applies to people that are much better at the game than I am, but many of points were things I noticed on my first or second game.

While I would love to see a proper expansion pack to the game, there just seem to be too many fundamental flaws with it to make it worth saving. Then again, I heard Civ 4 was neigh-unplayable on release, but after the expansions it grew in great game. I only picked it up on Steam last summer, so I missed playing the "vanilla" release. Maybe there's hope for Civ 5, too?
