Yea so I've gotten this type of error for other custom maps and i can just delete the version I have and download the new version for the server I'm on and all is well.

However, for some reason I cannot find the cp_gorge5 map anywhere on my HD. I've played this map twice on sourceop before with no issues but now I get this error. What do I do?

If you're certain the file doesn't exist on your hard drive (cp_5gorge.bsp), go to Team Fortress 2 Properties on steam and verify the game cache.

It was not on my HD. I went ahead and did the integrity check on my cache and it found 4 files it could not verify, so it downloaded them. This has fixed the issue. However, I still do not see this map file on my HD.

Glad it worked, thanks for the help.

Also, it seems that when the server goes to this map a good portion of the server drops. I would imagine it is b/c of this very same issue I had. You may want to check into it.

If many people have this file corrupted in their gcf file, there is not a lot I can do about it. Sad

tbh, I personally dont like cp_5gorge really... might other have the same.

as for the map not on your /maps/ folder, its in the GCF, TF2 does not need it to be in the /maps/ folder

Well, yes I know that. I was meaning something along the lines of potentially removing the map completely from the rotation.

Not sure if you have the ability to check, but just to see what happens to the population when the server moves to that map. For example, if the server is full and a pattern is noticed where a large number of players are dropped on map change. I recon that map would be a good candidate for removal.

My server runs this map allot, some friends have had this problem, something valve needs to look at it. I can remember a case where 10 different players had this problem.

Go to the games library in steam. Right click team fortress 2 and click properties. Click the local files tab. Now click verify integrity of game cache.
