Hello,
Tonight I was playing on the 2fort instant respawn server and a spammer started flooding chat (see attached screenshot). So I started a votekick to discourage him from doing so. The votekick did not pass and he stopped spamming once it started. A player named butane told me not to abuse the votekick system and I kind of blew it off since i thought he was just another player and was not aware he was an admin. I ran an info on him and saw he had connected only 50 times to this server. I made a comment saying "they give admin to people who have only connected 50 times? lol". He then repeated himself through the source mod admin chat and then banned me.

I have attached screenshots showing the player spamming and the votekick I started because of this spam and Butane's warning to me. I think being banned for my actions is a little over the top. I really enjoy playing on this server and in fact it is the only server I play on. So I would love to be unbanned so I can continue to play.

While you definitely shouldn't have said the "they give admin to people who...blah blah blah" comment, I honestly don't see how that was votekick abuse. I was thinking of starting one myself because I didn't think he was going to stop spamming and it's annoying playing the game with a long wall of spam on the left side in the chat.

I already warned the user, when I asked you about the votekick, you said "doesn't matter the reason" and continued to say those negative things when asked again, votekick abuse/being a jerk, I dont care the reason, suck it up and dont be such a fuck to people next time.

Also I started one votekick. Per sourceop rules that state:
Abusing the votekick system:
1. Warning
2. 1 week ban

I feel I shouldn't have been banned for starting one votekick.

Your ban will probably expire before ibby ever views this thread, tho I will link it to him and provide him the server log when I do see him on. Saying that, I stand by the ban.
