Having played it a bit and from what I have heard. The game has been dumbed down a lot, which is something that irks me. I'll play more tomorrow, but, it seems they took out a lot of the complexity with the removal of talent trees.

The new system is simple enough. What I do mourn is the loss of sockets and gems.
They both simplified the concept of sockets and made it entirely too complex at the same time. It's a nice enough game, but all it really does is get me excited for Torchlight 2.
Though I will say I swore I only played for like an hour, but looked up and 3.5 had gone by.

So from what I have experienced the beta is pitifully short and retard easy. All three of the characters I rolled were NEVER in the danger of dieing. I had to use a health potion once or twice at most. I can see it being fun for a day or two, but I have a feeling after playing it for a bit I will quickly grow tired of it.

I kinda felt the same way as snarf after playing for a few hours. Cleared the beta on all the available characters, Monk and Barbarian being the easiest.
I'm hoping that the higher difficulties/hardcore modes make things a little more interesting. I'll play it on release either way, I just hope its interesting enough to keep my attention for a while like D1/D2 did. game looked pretty nice too, somewhat reminiscent of the D1.
RMAH (real money auction house) should be tons of fun too.
