nvidia 8800 gtx problem - Drunken F00l - Jan 18, 2008

If I played 800x600 I'd probably get some pretty good FPS. The only thing about that is though that I like running windowed mode and 800x600 would be a tiny box on my monitor (1920x1200 resolution). I use windowed mode so that I can alt tab to other things like web browser, AIM, MSN, email, etc.

windowed mode in vista (unless you have aero turned off) actually takes away a lot of the system. As you can read on their website, they are quite proud of their resource-eating bubbly floaty aero-system. I tried running Vista without vista, but couldn't shake the feeling that my OS was resenting me for it.

LOL i maxed out my grapichs settings for COD4 and get like 100-180 fps

yeah, my 8600gt pulls 120fps at max settings, I would love to see how much power I could pull out of a 8800...

P4 3.4GHz
BFG NVIDIA 6800 Ultra overclocked 256MB
3GB Corsair XMS RAM

Time for a new one. No $$$. Sad
How well can you play GOW?

Im running it on a P4 3.0 ghz

2 GB dual channel ram 400 mhz

Nvidia 6600 gt 128 mb AGP 8x

It plays so bad, i quit within 10 minutes and havent played the game since Sad

Wow biggs, im jealous of the patience you must have from using that pc lol

What is considered a good FRamerate, and what is considered bad?

I would say a good framerate is anything over 60. After that, I don't notice much difference.
