$1,200 is nothing to spend on audio equipment. And for audio, 8-16GB of RAM is a necessity due to plugins, midi programs, and rendering.

I should also mention that I won $1,000 worth of plugins at a raffle, and that was only for four plugins. Bundles get insanely expensive very quickly.
