Valve != Blizzard/EA/Activision and slippery slope is a bad argument to use in any case.

This update reeks of blizzard. If you had told me one year ago that valve was going to have a store in tf2 that used real money to buy unlocks, I would have said that valve isn't that kind of a company. Yet here they are doing it. If this shit is successful, what's to stop them from implementing it in future games?

Even if I'm not directly forced to buy anything, there's now constant reminders about purchasing items. Hell, there's fucking advertising on the main menu for items in the store. Yeah, no one is making me, but payed items pervade every aspect of the game, to the point where the game is secondary to the items (at least it seems this way to me). Where before people would say "nice shot" after dieing, now they're seeing the freezecam and saying "nice hat."

tl;dr: I DON'T LIKE IT WAAAH.

Blizzard isn't this bad, the only thing you can buy in their store is ingame pets and other worthless cosmetics. And they cost less than the actual game. Along with this you wouldn't find this page without actually looking for it because they don't throw it in your face 24/7. So Valve has stepped lower than blizzard in this case.

Who gives a shit? Microtransactions in any game are bad. Valve IS adding microtransactions, thus they are akin to blizzard/ea/acitivision/korean mmos in this regard.

Also saying that an argument is bad without providing any counterexample is automatically worse.

qwit - Snarf - Oct 02, 2010

Ignoring the post above you, most mmos still have no micro transactions ingame.

qwit - glouch - Oct 02, 2010

there are some weird korean ones that do iirc

You don't need to provide a counter example to a slippery slope because a slippery slope argument is a bad one in the first place.
