I have had this computer for 16 months, and it is not out of date, even the newest games like BF 2142 run on it with out any lag(max graphics), so it is not out of date

PS Naq BF2142 don't take that great of graphics card to run

If you've had ur comp for 16 months then its out of date.. even if it runs current games. New hardware comes out all that time, and when something comes out that is faster then your computer, then your computer just became out of date.

Out-of-date-ness is Obsolescence, which is defined by practicality, not by pure functionality.

Sure a new alienware can be better than mine in all aspects, but it wouldn't be practical to buy a $20,000 computer, therefore mine isn't out of date, it's just not top-of-the-line. Computers aren't out-of-date in a month, despite popular belief. Computers are only out-of-date when they are FULLY obsolete, I have computers that are 8-9 years old that I still use. Computers aren't out of date until they are completely non-practical (cant run any software, parts needed to repair it are too expensive to obtain intelligently).

In reality, computers aren't out of date for a good 5 years after they are purchased, you just need to know who to sell them too when they are 2-3 years old.
