After looking on the site for my hats, the only ones that were close included the words "I just sold" or "I just bought". Most others were low (compared to what I paid for them, or what others I've seen go for recently), except for some odd reason my festivizers. Those were higher.
Any place that over-values festivizers is suspect.
But yes - look at recent prices (not "OMG burning fro is only worth 2 buds because someone 1:1 with a 2 bud hat 2 years ago) for the hat (or similar effects, or similar hats and same effect) both sold/paid/offered, and base off that. Have a 1 of 2? Probably worth more than 1 of 30. 1 of 30 but you're the only one selling one, and 5 people want it, 2 of which are collectors? Raise it up (anecdote: I hunted for a a searing festivizer for 4 months. I found two other hunters. One finally hit the market and I got it for 2.5? 3? something like that. Two to three times or so what that stupid site has it listed for. Trading is situational).

On the vary rare occasion I trade unusuals now I usually put in my notes "anyone that even mentions tf2pc will never get a trade from me, ever"

It's worked so far... not that it matters anymore for me, as I'm done :roll:

If you don't like our prices, then why don't you just post what you think the hat is worth?

Every single time someone sees a price they don't agree with, they create a hate group instead of doing the rational thing.

We do not have 10 or so people trying to devalue each hat. Since I have been an admin over at TF2PC, I have encouraged multiple users to post what they have sold their hat for, not just what we believe it's worth.

We, however, do not encourage sellers posting huge numbers on their unusual to try and make profit off the users who use our site. I ask anyone who is going to post a higher number (ex. 6 buds for a hat previously pc'd at 4) to provide some sort of evidence such as Outpost Trades or a SOP thread where it was sold so we can confirm that's the price.

I know a Burning Crown is not 4 buds, but we can't 24/7 check all 1000+ threads to make sure they are 100% accurate. If you feel it's undervalued, post your own pricecheck next time.

I don't get why so many people have a problem with us. While I do admit, some of our pricechecks are... bad, to say the least, we try to run a civil forum and let everyone give their opinion. The ones who are wrong will soon be overshadowed by the ones who are right; our prices might be outdated, but that isn't necessarily our fault. I'd like to see you get a group of about a dozen or so of your friends and update 4000+ threads. We can't update EVERY single thread to ever exist. We do our best, and I think for the majority our site is accurate; people who post low or high prices because they're buying or selling a hat get warned and banned, and anyone who is incorrect, if not told by the community that they are in fact wrong, gets their post deleted, if the lowball is serious enough. We can't control how far down people read. There will always be retards who look at the first post from four months ago and go herp derp dats da price, without reading later posts or updating it themself.

OP, I don't know what your beef is with us, but handle it with an ounce of civility, please.

I agree with both of yous. Especially you Dopp, the trading economy is complete bullshit.... The thing with the stock items, levels ( it makes some sense ) etc is just messed up, with half the things you can't even see why level it is or if it's stock, the only thing in my opinion that makes a tiny bit of sense are the for want of a better word, main trading components, Buds, unusuals, keys and metal...

If you guys know the real prices why don't you join the forum and post them then? The pricechecks there are just a rough guideline. While there are admins and mods everybody can post his pricecheck, so it's not really a spreadsheet.
