You'd have to download extra stuff when you connect to the game.

that sucks... maybe a single server that does this?

and just so i understand, was valve originally going to make 4 simultaneous teams or just 2 of 4 randomly selected for that particular game instance?

TF2 Background I made - Drunken F00l - Oct 08, 2008

In TFC, you could have four full teams of four or whatever the map maker wanted to do.

In the case of hunted, you have three teams where the yellow team was limited to five players and the blue team only had the one civilian.

Fortress-forever supports four teams.

oh wow, well that would certainly add a lot of functionality to a server if one was to implement coding for all four teams.

you should do this df! though it sounds like a massive project.

(this is coming from someone who, generally speaking, plays games as developers intended without game-changing mods)

Well, I wouldn't be able to modify anything that's strictly client side such as the look of the scoreboard, so it's not really feasible.

I can definitely seeing them do this later on. Same way they did the arena maps, a new way to play the game entirely. But maybe they are stuck more on Red and Blu than I thought.
