Def, theres time for computers. You'll probably upgrade an a month later theres gonna be some new graphics card out

mrmason Wrote:yeah those are pretty bad, I'd say upgrade that processor to at least a i3 core and your RAM to a 8 gig.

i3's perform significantly worse than most core 2's.

Why would you downgrade from mid-end to extra-low end, especially when you would be buying an entire fucking new motherboard and ram just to upgrade to this, costing SIX TIMES as much as picking up another LGA775 processor?

Actually, cores have nothing to do with buying a new mother board. You dont buy a whole new mother board to get a new core. Its a chip that clips into the mother board. i3's is basically a 2's with some extra shit, its not 'worse'

I got to admit Tf2 is unplayable right now with the amount of spikes and random frame rate drops. Should I also look foward to clean my pc with also replacing the old processors?

You know nothing about building computers.

I3's use a different slot than Core2's. Also i3's have only 3 or four megabytes of L2 cache and really slow clock rates. They were built for economy and TDP, which doesn't a good gaming processor make.

If you want the best bang for buck chip get the i5 2500k (1155 socket).

This. The only thing it's missing is triple channel, which scaled like shit anyway.

(PROTIP: The 2500k outperforms the AMD's SIX CORE PROCESSOR and costs LESS MONEY)

I'm thinking of getting a new cpu, how much does it cost to buy a man to fit it?
