i use it as a way to track my progress
after a couple weeks playing there your points will generally plateau based on your skill level. watching my points jump up or drop a couple thousand is a decent indication of whether or not im getting any better.
but that's only even remotely accurate if you play the game the way you're supposed to

Anyway, if you're interested in looking at "meaningful" stat comparisons you can do so at http://gameme.com/ranking . They break things into seasons and you can compare yourself to others in your region. Thats against all HLXStats, though. I don't know if you can do that for the server specific stats. I think that stats are only really good to see how long someone has been on the server and to compare your own session against past performances, and resetting them would negate their best use.

I like hlstats, I like seeing all the different things it tracks. although I'm not always sure of the timeframes over which the data's been collected...
but yeah the points are dumb, what a stunning revelation.

I always thought we should reset HLstatsX monthly. That way if the database ever borks its not THE BROPOCACOLYPSE

yeah I do like looking at the number of taunt kills, hits by train, etc.
