Good find, but that isn't quite what I meant.

Nvidia is actually going to issue a price drop (hopefully) later this month on the GTX200 series.

Or keep them the same in the hopes you'll spend the little extra for the newer ones.

As it stands, I'm realizing that I can't keep pouring money into an outdated system. I've already spent over $800 on my $500 bass guitar, I've put around $500 in this quickly aging Dell system - I really need to draw the line at how much I'm spending on something old before I just buy something NEW. And I really can't hang onto those items, Vaft, because I've got about three weeks to get the mail-in rebates sent in.

800$ will get you an i7 setup.

250$ on that will get you the most powerful GPU you will need for years.

That's true Alpha. I've looked into that, but right now I can't spend that much money. I already have a nice amount of bills and it's just bad practice to be putting money into luxuries like gaming when I could be putting it toward my trade, like better tools or better music gear, because those are things that are a source of income and can provide a return on all the money I am spending. I'm happy spending a couple of dollars running a slightly outdated computer system, since it's only something I do for fun every couple of nights. One of these days when I'm rollin in the dough I'll blow three large on a gaming rig Big Grin
