Yea DF had it on for a while, was great watching some matches while eating dinner then playing right afterward with everyone but DF said it was creating tons of lag with so many specs watching I'm guessing as well as 32 people playing at the same time.

It doesn't really have anything to do with the number of specs watching. It's just that having SourceTV on at all demands a lot.
