I've had mixed results. Sometimes I'll be up right next to people and won't get a stab. Overall, it's worked fine for me other than the adjustment period to the new range. I think the side stab might be a bit much even. Saps and stabs are much simpler. Snipers can't even keep their back to a wall anymore to protect themselves. Even when detected or in a larger group you can circle strafe and maybe a get a few cheap kills. I don't think it's game breaking or anything, I'd just prefer if it were a bit stricter.
Also lol at complaining about the baseball. It's still way too overpowered. Sandman is easy mode. I stopped using it because I feel cheap.

SubtleArt has some pretty good spy videos. That is his only spy video since the scout update.
I watched the first 2:40 minutes, and this is exatly what I mean.
He ran around like an idiot making up useless uneffective plans all the time because the knife is shittier.
Since the update you have to be 100% sure of what you are doing as spy and this annoys me greatly because players mostly know how to turn around now.

I like the spy changes, easier to stab and then get away since you don't have to plan on the extra split second before the stab takes effect.
One of the big changes they need to fix is that the enemy team can see the name placard if their crosshairs roam over you while you're fully cloaked, that's a huge issue.
