YAY, no more Simo snipes.
Kidding of course, there was a bad batch of NVIDIA mobile GPUs that went out a while back, wonder if you got one:

Not that it would immediately help your situation, but I wonder if there's a class-action suit against either the laptop manufacturers or NVIDIA.

The defects involved laptops equipped with mobile Nvidia GPUs- specifically the 8600M and 8400M chips. There's suggestion that the earlier GeForce Go 7000 and 6000s are bad too; and questions of stability in their motherboards with the 790i chipsets.
The class-action
lawsuit in progress was filed by one of Nvidia's stockholders. I don't know if a consumer class-action is in the works.
I game on a laptop too Simo, (an Asus G1S I bought a year ago) and it's got an 8600m GT- one of the affected chips. But I can still game- but the BSODs happen more often from desktop than a game engine.

Sorry you're having issues, Simo and hope you get it sorted out sooner than you think and can come back to play.
I also cannot play TF2 on my laptop and I've yet to figure out why. I do have other computers, so it doesn't stop me from playing but it irks me I can't figure out what's wrong on the laptop.
Also, I can play other Steam games like CSS and L4D on the laptop but when I load TF2, it lags so bad it's like a slide show. At first, I couldn't even get it to load but it's still unplayable.

this reminds me of the time we all found out that SPAM used the arrow keys to play.
Would be priceless if simo was using the touchpad instead of a mouse.
