exactly.

friendly heavies was one of those "community rules" that the server was recently enforcing that was driving off new players. there were countless votekicks against heavies using the minigun, and it was retarded.

if you're on the hunting team you're hunting for props. if you're not doign that then you aren't playing the game and are just taking up a slot in the server.

While not having played PH as much as others, I equate it to boxing heavies on 2fort in a normal game. It's a change of pace temporarily. Except PH isn't as dynamic as a normal round of tf2, so it gets stale more often, which accounts for the friendlies appearing more often.
Also I enjoy heavy in PH, friendly or no. More of a challenge and more satisfying to kill with.

Unless you're standing on a roof shooting any props that come into your view. Then you're just ruining the game for the people who are actually searching.

except standing on a roof and shooting is a method of searching in itself so you're doing exactly what you're supposed to do.

I can already tell that I can't persude you otherwise with words. So I invite you to play on the server for a while and see the dynamics of it first hand. Until then, we're going to have to agree to disagree.

I agree that spray and pray heavies are terrible for the server and valid solutions have been posted here by people far more knowledgeable than I am Big Grin

+1
Removing them would solve that, the other suggestion of increasing the damage penalty would not help as the "friendly heavys" don't shoot anyhow and would encourage the normal heavys to shoot even less.

Also, because I just saw it happen in the server. Friendlies can be almost equally as detrimental as spray and prays because often times they go stand next to a prop and start spamming "The scout is a spy" which is essentially ruining that prop's spot. Some people don't care, some do.

At that point your found anyways, now at the end of a round tho, its just delaying the next round and is against the official server rules
