Stop giving a damn about dupes! -

That's what I am trying to preach.
Dupes don't fucking matter. Only people you buy from matters.
Just pay attention to who you buy from. Don't buy from
1. Hijackers. 2. People who buy from Hijackers. 3. Sharks
From the 3rd owner on everybody paid the normal price for it since the people buying from hijackers want to make profit and not lower the price because it's a dupe.
And like I said people are getting hijacked so often nowadays. No matter how careful they are. Their whole collection gets duped. You shouldnt punish them by paying less for their hats now. And the people who have no idea of dupes and accidentaly bought or traded for one shouldnt be punished too.
I personally still don't trade for dupes because they are really unpredictable. The majority luckily doesn't seem to care but the fact that its a dupe can make you lose some nice deals.
I mean people would never know without the help of 3rd party programs that a hat is duped. There really is no real reason to avoid them if you want to wear the hat.

I completely agree, I really hate the stigma associated with dupes, but I'm afraid to touch them for fear that pedantic traders will fuck me on the value :(
The only item I'd ever properly have an issue with being duped is my Brigade, and that's because, as it's the only item in my BP I have any intention of keeping indefinitely, I'd like it to be unique, and that's aboot it.

theres no illegal dupes, all dupes come from valve, but some are given to people after theyve been hijacked as a replacement and some are duped from hijacking, people make beleive there someone and get valve to give them a dupe or access to the account, theyre was for a small window of time russians duping hats but thats a while ago, and havent heard anything from anyone about new dupes coming out from that method
also it all depends if u care if its duped or not, if its one of my dream hats i wouldnt mind getting it for a bit less cuz its duped, but in other cases i might hesitate unless the deals killer.

That's simply not true. A Russian website discovered an exploit by which a hat traded both in and out of game would be duplicated, and there are countless dupes from that short window between Jan 09 and March 14 that still have yet to surface because alt accounts of dupers won't post their item ids to backpack websites.
The only reason Unusual hats have real world value is not their rarity, but rather because they cannot be attained without cash investment in keys. You could argue that scrapbots generate wealth, but that exploits a time to money ratio. (I could run my own scrap bots, but there is nothing I need from scrap, and the metals to keys market is a waste of electricity)
Ideally, a hijacked hat is locked inside the account of a banned hijacker, and in that instance, the 'returned' hat doesn't suffer any loss in value, but hijackers are quick to be rid of the item - not out of the need for an immediate return, but rather because of impending justice.
I avoid duped hats because Valve is going to at somepoint be forced to delete them if they wish to maintain their lucrative Mannconomy. Personally I feel that the correct course of action is to destroy all copies of the dupe, and pay the legitamite owners in Earbuds - which would solve both critical economic problems.
It should go without saying that knowingly purchasing a hijacked item is a crime beyond the scope of sharking, and should be dealt with the same way real-life police deal with the fencing of stolen property - siezure, charges, and return to rightful ownership.
I don't buy for a minute that Valve doesn't have the resources to deal with the situation properly, not when websites like Steamrep and SourceOp so effectively police the community as a hobby.

they do know how to deal about it, but will they wont give buds to the owners of hijacked hats, because theyre was a limited release of buds in the manconomy and they wont make new ones, maybe some alternate new currency that could help them dunno, but they wont give buds to people and i highly doubt they will delete the dupes,

While I do understand your point, and personally stay the hell away from duped hats, I disagree slightly. Being in a trading community which has quite a few reputable traders who don't buy dupes, can also affect the sale of a hat (which is especially troublesome concerning hats involving large sums of cash)

This is one of the main reasons that people don't buy duped hats imo.
But yeah, I'm also in agreement with you about the fact that it matters a hell of a lot who you do buy from. And the trading community as a whole should bear that in mind.

If somebody offered me a duped burning flames tower of team captains I would probably take it. These aren't counterfeit goods like fake Rolex watches, these hats do the exact same thing as their counterparts.
